DESCRIPTION

Our wood cockroaches (woodies) are now available in 4 different sizes: 

• x-small woodies (5mm)
  
  
• small woodies (5mm-10mm)
  
  
• medium woodies (10mm-20mm)
  
  
• large woodies (20mm-30mm)

As woodies are highly active, they trigger a positive feed response in pets that are motivated to feed by movement. 

Woodies are a clean, natural and nutritious option as a staple feeder insect in your pet's diet. 

You can feed our insects to your pet:

• frogs
  
  
• geckos
  
  
• insect-eating birds
  
  
• lizards
  
  
• predatory fish
  
  
• scorpions and spiders
  
  
• turtles; and
  
  
• wildlife

to provide variety in their diet.

Offering your pet various feeder insects promotes better overall health through a more balanced and nutrient-rich diet.

STORAGE

We recommend that you: 

• unpack your woodies on arrival to reduce the risk of losses
  
  
• store them at room temperature in a storage container without a lid AND
  
  
• apply a 5cm - 10cm strip of Fluon Insect Barrier Paint to the top inside edges of your storage container to prevent escapees! 
  
  
• raise them on a pre-formulated diet like Crazy Critters Gutload - Premium Insect Food, or for a lower-protein option try our Organic Wheat Bran, and provide fresh produce twice a week.

COMMENTS

Woodies do not have an adequate calcium:phosphorous ratio for many animals and may require additional calcium before feeding to your pet. 

You can achieve a higher calcium content by:

• dusting your insects immediately before offering to your pet; or 
  
  
• adding the calcium powder to a gutload supplement fed to your insects. 

Note: woodies are also commonly referred to as speckled feeder roaches and lobster roaches.
