At Crazy Critters, we know not every pet is out there trying to wrestle full-sized mealworms. Some pets prefer their meals a little more… manageable. That's where our small mealworms come in. 

Perfect for young reptiles, small birds, fish, and other tiny freeloaders with surprisingly expensive tastes, these nutritious little critters deliver all the goodness of regular mealworms.

Our mealworms are available in three different sizes: 

• mini mealworms (10mm)
  
  
• small mealworms (15mm)
  
  
• regular mealworms (20mm)

Crazy Critters live mealworms are a hit with pets that like their food fresh and impossible to ignore.

They’re ideal for animals stimulated by movement — especially those outrageously picky eaters who stare at non-moving food like they’ve just been served disappointment on a plate.

Our small mealworms are perfect for omnivores and are safe to feed the following animals — giving their diets a little extra variety and making mealtime slightly more exciting:

• bearded dragons
  
• blue tongue lizards
  
• chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowls
  
• forest dragons
  
• frogs

To keep your mealworms alive and only mildly offended by captivity, we recommend you:

• unpack your mealworms on arrival to reduce the risk of losses
  
  
• you can store them in a fridge to slow their growth and delay their inevitable plans for pupation
  
  
• take them out of the fridge at least once a week, for 24 hours, so they can eat; replace the bran, before sending them back to their regularly scheduled refrigeration
  
  
• when feeding your pet: remove mealworms from the fridge 24-48 hours beforehand and gutload them properly — cold, hungry mealworms aren’t exactly premium dining
  
  

Mealworms are not considered a staple food because of their high-fat content.

We recommend offering them as an occasional treat rather than part of the daily buffet.


Pets love them.
Nutritionists are slightly less enthusiastic.


That said, if your pet is injured, sick, breeding, or looking a little less “majestic beast” than usual, mealworms can help support healthy weight gain.
